PREGNANCY AFTER INFERTILITY & LOSS

a positive pregnancy test is often the goal but what happens when you get there

Navigating pregnancy after infertility and loss can be one of the most challenging things you will ever face. For many of us our whole world has focussed on getting pregnant (or staying pregnant) so we have not even considered what we would do once we get there. So much emphasis is placed on making it to the next goal post that we forget to enjoy the pregnancy and it's almost impossible to think about welcoming a baby into our lives in only a few month's time.

I understand,I have been there too

I understand how it can feel to be where you are now. It took four rounds of fertility treatment and five years for me to finally get the first positive pregnancy test of my life. The relief was so overwhelming that I sobbed for a good 30 minutes. Not long after this the concern soon kicked in ‘But what if i lost this baby?’ it almost felt impossible to believe that i would ever have a baby in 9 months time. So as many others do i set new smaller goalposts to focus on and im pleased to say that in August of 2020 welcomed my son into the world. As a Registered Midwife with almost 15 years of experience and through my own journey I can support you every step of this pregnancy.

How I can support you

Depending on the concerns you have may change the type of support you need. In view of this, the support I offer is evidence-based and up-to-date in the form of one-to-one sessions ranging from early pregnancy support to preparing for birth or your newborn’s arrival. Each session is tailored around your own individual needs on a date and time convenient to you. To learn more about this simply request the information pack below and we will send the information to you as a priority.

Hazel you have been so fantastic and I wish you were my midwife for delivery. After battling this journey for such a long time I wasn't sure I would ever be a mum. Once I found your page and we did our first session I trusted and only really felt comfortable with you. You understand me and get my needs making this whole experience so much smoother! Thank you again for your ongoing support and advice, id have been lost without you"

  • Have you received a positive pregnancy test but you find it difficult to believe? You are not alone in this. It’s so common to feel so grateful to be pregnant but terrified about what to expect. You can spend your time googling what you should and shouldn’t be eating, drinking and doing. I can help support you through the early stages of pregnancy so you know what’s normal, what you should worry about and what to expect in the coming months.

This is a Two hour session

  • You were terrified you would make it this far but you have got to 20 weeks and are unsure what to expect from the rest of your pregnancy. I can support you with the changes your body will go through, how you will feel mentally and what you should start putting in place to prepare for your new arrival.

This is a Two hour session

  • I completely get it, you have put off preparing for this part but as it’s fast approaching you realise you’re not as prepared as you would like to be for labour and birth. This session covers normal physiology of birth, medical and non-medical forms of pain relief and feeling empowered in your decisions.

This is a Three hour session

  • This session focuses specifically on preparing for your little ones’ arrival. What items do you really need, whats the reality when it comes to sleep and normal baby behaviour as well as identifying potential concerns.

“I’d just like to say you have been incredible, you have been such an amazing support for me and if there is anywhere I can leave a review please let me know.

Having a newborn has been way more challenging than I thought it would be but I felt able to handle it because I knew what to expect thanks to the sessions we did together. Monty is growing so fast and I'm so grateful to be his mummy. It was a long road getting here but I wouldn't change a thing. Thank you again.”
